J\’pura Flames, the Official Media Grid of the University of Sri Jayewardenepura, has always been innovative. The club presents to its members and undergraduates new means of entertainment that help nourish their knowledge simultaneously. Flames Pulse, the podcast series, is one of such novel ideas where we utilize the virtual platforms available to enrich our audience with the latest updates and trends from around the world.
The main objective of this project is to provide our listeners, a productive distraction from the prevailing pandemic and an escape from their mundane lifestyle. We have launched our first episode on the 14th of July 2021 and, we update the platform regularly every Friday or weekend. There are three fascinating episodes featured so far, on the topics \’Story of podcasting\’, \’Miracles of mushrooms\’, and \’Tokyo Olympics, why is it special?\’ We are also planning to launch new episodes featuring topics like famous songs, mythical creatures, and many other recent updates that would be a delightful treat for our enthusiastic listeners. Our primary concern is to provide entertainment to our listeners in the middle of a tedious day. Thus, our sessions are funfilled, easily understandable, and engaging conversations between individuals passionate about world affairs. Listening to our podcasts would remind our listeners of the golden days they spent as students, listening to their friends at a random hangout spot.
The podcast project has received a positive response from our members following the first few weeks of launching. Fueled by the enthusiasm of our listeners, we have made ourselves available in most of the famous podcasting platforms, including Apple Podcasts, Google Podcasts, Anchor, CastBox, Breaker, PocketCasts, and RadioPublic.
Adhering to our motto, \’Above all that rise, knowledge is the greatest,\’ J\’pura Flames looks for the means of enhancing the knowledge of our undergraduates more engagingly and effectively. All our initiatives reflect this motive, and Flames Pulse is yet another milestone crafted by us in the journey towards an enlightened tomorrow.
