“Success without honor is an unseasoned dish; it will satisfy your hunger but it won’t taste good”
The Distinction of the chairman of the University Grant Commission and the former Vice-Chancellor of the University of Sri Jayewardenepura, Senior Professor Sampath Amarathunge was savored through the honor of obscuring “The Award of the Order of the Rising Sun” by the Japanese Government. The red carpet was rolled on for his excellency, the president of the Democratic Socialist Republic Of Sri Lanka, Mr. Gotabaya Rajapaksa, and other distinguished intellectuals at Dharma Vijayaloka Temple, Rukmale on the 22nd of January 2022, which made the event more graceful.
In addition, a memento was presented to the Japanese Ambassador Mizukoshi Hideaki by Ven. Ittapana Dhammalankara Thero, along with the President Gotabaya Rajapaksa receiving a memento from W.K.H.Wegapitiya and Prof.Sudantha Liyanage.
